Winter White Wine Sangria

Growing up on a small farm I remember - oh wait, no one cares. Let’s get to the recipe!

Ingredients

  • 1 bottle of white wine

  • 1/4 -1/2 cup tequila (depending on your taste buds)

  • 1 large orange

  • 1 green apple

  • 1 pear

  • 1 cinnamon stick

  • 1 cup cranberries

optional:

  • seltzer

  • rosemary for garnish

Directions:

  1. Combine wine, tequila, cinnamon stick, and chopped fruit. Refrigerate for 2 hours - overnight.

  2. When ready to serve, add optional seltzer and garnish.

I promise to always put the recipe first, and then blab at the bottom. So here I go blabbin’ away…

I am NOT a white wine drinker. I love red end of list. So I needed to come up with a way to pawn off two boxes of white wine from my wedding. I tried giving it as gifts until I saw them still unopened at my friends houses…. So for the holidays, who doesn’t love a yummy sweet drink that is also beautiful OH and did I mention you make this the day before?! Check check check next holiday party is just planning itself.

NOTE I have used no seltzer and it’s great! Some folks don’t like bubbles so I tend to keep it off to the side as an optional drink topper. Also I’ve tried different kinds of seltzer. Plain, lemon lime, but my favorite was an orange creamsicle *insert drooling emoji here* so yummy!
Plus mix this up with whatever fruit is in your fridge! I’d recommend some sort of citrus to blend with the tequila, but feel free to get creative with what you have on hand.

Can you tell I have made this a few times? Somehow I still have random white wine bottles from my wedding of 3 years ago…. Time to make another batch.
