Kids Craft - Easter Egg Stained Glass Tissue Paper

Adorable. These Easter Eggs turned out so good! You can always say that anything a child makes is adorable but these I actually hung up in my kitchen and love how the lights hit them. Kind of regret not making one myself!
All you need are a few simple supplies, time to cut them up (maybe great for toddlers working on their scissor skills), and a place to hang them. Lets get into it.

Supplies:

  • Construction Paper

  • Scissors

  • Packaging Tape (or transfer tape if your fancy)

  • Colorful tissue paper

  • Hole punch

  • Fishing line or string

  • Time

Step one: Cut out the egg shape

(I attempted at first to use a printed out photo of an egg but being precise is not the point of a kids craft, my girls saw me doing something and ran over so free hand it is!)

Step two: Attach the tape face up

I used packaging tape because thats what I had on hand and it worked great.

Other tutorials I found use transfer tape which I am sure would look a little cleaner, but it is pricy and the tissue paper covers up any lines so use whatever you got.

Step Three: Chop up the tissue paper

Aim for 1 inch cubes or smaller. No need to measure just chop!

Bonus points for letting your kids help.

Step Four: Call the kids over and let them go at it

I barley had to say anything my 3 year olds understood what we were doing immeadatly.

Step Five: Hole punch and hang them up

Step Six: Clean up tissue paper your kids learned they can blow all over the house

Whoops

Twas a mess.

My biggest recommendation is to only give your kids a little tissue paper at a time OR get the shop vac out. Either work. And both create fun art and beautiful memories.

Happy Spring! Happy Crafting! and have a very

HAPPY EASTER!
